Welcome.

I specialize in supporting intuitive, artistic, and soulful folks & changemakes in healing from ongoing oppression, trauma, and abuse. Individuals who are called to work with me often align with the identities of highly sensitive people, creatives, and empaths. I often work with beings who are exceptionally attuned to the emotions and energies of others, and are unsure how to navigate this connection. People who are committed to making change in their communities and families, or within themselves, but who often find it hard to believe that they are also deserving of time, care, and support that honors their unique needs.

I provide therapy that supports folks in weaving new narratives, and reconnecting with their intuition and innate wisdom.

About ME

Hello, welcome to my practice. I’m Nasha, a queer, South Asian & Iranian psychotherapist who is deeply passionate about supporting folks on their healing journeys. I believe that we all carry deep wells of wisdom in our bodies and spirits, and when we are able to access these healing waters within, we are able to get closer to peace, acceptance, and liberation.

“Ufyemi,” the name of my practice, has two meanings in the ancient language of Iran, my ancestral-tongue: to weave, and to sing. I believe through creative and emotional expression, therapy can support us in weaving our experiences together in a way that will allow us to experience more authentic wellness.

I was brought to this work through my own experiences of working through complex trauma, and anxiety— all which came with a desire to feel understood and find a sense of belonging. Through honoring my sensitivities and empathic, intuitive nature, I was able to find my voice and see my own magic.

I have been practicing as a mental health clinician since 2016. I obtained my BA in Social Welfare at UC Berkeley, and then continued my studies to obtain my Master’s in Social Work from USC. My internships were spent in community mental health agencies doing both individual and group therapy, working  with children, adolescents, and adults. As trained doula and mother, I also have a passion for supporting birthing people, mothers & parents.

I believe therapy is inherently political, and that it can also be created to be a safe, cozy space to engage in ritual, healing, self-love practice. A place to tend to wounds, connect with one’s body, connect with one’s ancestral lineage, and connect with one’s own magic.

The traditions that have influenced me and continue to inspire me are

  • Herbalism and flower essences

  • Indigenous/spiritual frameworks

  • Vocal toning and sound healing

  • Somatics

  • Astrology + Mysticism

  • Mindfulness

I am trained in Somatic and Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (S.A.F.E. EMDR), an evidence-based trauma-healing modality that has shown evidence to alleviate symptoms of chronic, complex, and acute trauma. I also incorporate parts-work, spiritual, artistic, and somatic-centered practices into my therapeutic work.

It is my deep desire to not only help clients identify self-defeating narratives and alleviate distress, but to reclaim their joy, passion, connection, and inherent worthiness. My aim as a psychotherapist is to help people develop healthy relationships with themselves, others, and their environments, in order to heal both personally and collectively.
